May 18-20, 2018. The Pouzza Fest is a punk music festival held annually in Montreal. It always lasts for three crazy days in May, in settings both indoors and outdoors and mainly in downtown Montreal.
Described as a punk festival by its co-founders, Pouzza Fest insists on not limiting itself to an overly restrictive definition of punk rock, and includes groups from different musical genres, from hardcore punk to pop punk and folk, from ska to garage rock.
Pouzza Fest takes its name from a portmanteau composed of two words: poutine and pizza, two dishes usually eaten late in the evening in downtown Montreal. Thus, Pouzza becomes a dish "invented" for the occasion, somehow symbolizing the large number of participating artists and the diversity of musical styles showcased during the event.
