Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to Everyone!

October 8, 2018, is a statutory holiday in most of the provinces (the exceptions are Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia) as on this day Thanksgiving is celebrated in Canada. On this day, many families get together, eat dinner, and give thanks to others for the past.

Thanksgiving Day was celebrated for the first time in 1872 right after the recovery of the Prince of Wales from an illness. For a few years after that, the holiday was celebrated in November, but now it is celebrated on the Second Monday in October.
